Pi Day 3.14 = Pie Day in Kindergarten

Miss Christie Smith's math class came to visit today and they brought lots of pies.  They were celebrating pi (3.14) day in math and they shared their pies with us.  We had a great time eating pies (this was before lunch and we had already eaten a doughnut!!  Exemption Day Supersized!!!).

Miss Smith is explaining what pi day is all about.  The children told us what type of pies they had and the doodlebugs could chose the flavor they wanted to eat!

A Surprise Visit From Landon Cohen: Seattle Seahawks

We had a surprise visit from a Super Bowl football player today, Landon Cohen from the Seattle Seahawks.  The children were thrilled to meet this gentle and kind man.  He brought his football helmet for all the children to hold and try on.  He chatted with the children and encouraged them to work hard in school and to always do their very best!!!

Mrs. Polly Wolly chit chatting with Landon Cohen.

A Dr. Seuss Devotional

"… we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5

Oh, Dr. Seuss, how did you know?
the many injustices the earth would unfold.

Thanks for your colorful, zany characters a-plenty,
a dose of truth from them have taught many.

Be kind to others, do as i say,
love one another, and forgive each day.

Being right in life shouldn't be our mission or goal,
but a right relationship with others is worthy we're told.

And thank you also for encouraging and letting me know,
being different is okay, God has great plans for all in His show!

Hardships, questions and trials are a part of our life,
but if we follow the right One we will have more peace than strife.

So, today we celebrate you, Dr. Seuss... and oh, the places we'll go,
reading and believing with Him allows freedom, grace and love to grow.

friend, we are loved and chosen by God,

Mrs. Polly Wolly: Teacher Assistant of the Year!

We thought having Miss Spartanburg coming to our class was a big deal until Mrs. Jeter, Mr. Regnier and Ms. Robinson showed up at our door with a dozen roses and announced that Mrs. Polly Wolly was chosen as the Teacher Assistant of the Year!  We were so excited about the news that we all jumped for joy!!  Mrs. Polly Wolly definitely deserves this recognition.  She is a remarkable lady and she loves everything she does!  She does everything with a joyful heart!!!  We love her so much and we are so proud of her!!

CONGRATULATIONS
MRS. POLLY WOLLY!!!

Miss Spartanburg Reads to our Class

Today was an exciting day in Kindergarten when Miss Spartanburg, Whitney Evans, came to our classroom to read a book to us.  She read Pinkalicious to the children and she was so delightful.  She read with so much expression and the children just laughed and laughed as if it were the first time they had ever heard the book.  During the middle of the book we had a fire drill, so Miss Spartanburg walked outside with us (Fun Time)!  We thoroughly enjoyed her visit!!!
She is a great representation for Spartanburg!

Super cold outside during the fire drill, but it was nice to have a beauty queen with us!!

Thank you Miss Spartanburg, Whitney Evans, for reading to our class!!
