One More Special Visit from Nana!
We had one more very special visitor on Monday! Nana came to spend some time with us, and she had the honor of being our final visitor for Grandparents Month. What a sweet way to end such a wonderful month of memories!
Nana grew up in Gaffney, South Carolina, and attended Corinth Elementary School. She even remembered her teacher’s name—Ms. Mathis! Nana told us that she went to related arts classes, but they didn't have dance or drama like we do today. Her favorite subject was math, and she had lots of friends at school.
Just like our students, Nana loved playing on the playground! She rode the school bus each day and ate lunch in the cafeteria. She also told us that classrooms looked a little different back then. Instead of sitting together at tables like we often do today, students sat in their own individual desks.
We have absolutely loved comparing school then and now throughout Grandparents Month. Nana was the perfect person to help us finish this special classroom tradition!
A huge THANK YOU to Nana—and to all of the amazing grandparents and special visitors who came through the doors of Room 102 this month. You shared stories, books, photographs, toys, treats, memories, and so much love with us.
Grandparents Month may be over, but the memories you helped us make will stay with us all year long!
