Habitat Day!
Habitat Day 2018 was a huge success! We had a wonderful day learning about different habitats! A great big thank you to everyone that helped today to make it such a big success! We learned a lot and we had a wonderful lunch from Sugar and Spice! Yummy!
I was in charge of the Polar Habitat and we had a ball! We had stations set up for the children to learn about different ways the animals are able to survive in such cold conditions!
Making Polar Bear treats for dessert!
Exploring with icy conditions with animals from the north pole and south pole!
Pretending to be penguin parents carrying their eggs!
The children learned about the water resistant feathers of the penguins. They used waxy crayons to color a penguin and then sprayed it with water and watched the water roll away!
The blubber station was a huge success! The children put their hands in "blubber" (a ziplock bag filled with crisco) and put their hands in icy water. They put their hands in the icy water without the blubber. They compared how it felt with and without the blubber! They liked the blubber!
