Pete the Cat Glyph

After reading about Pete the Cat, we made cat glyphs.  You may be wondering, "what is a glyph?"

A glyph for kids uses pictures as a way to gather and depict data.  Glyphs are often theme-related and artistic. When they are completed, the scene or picture can be compared to the glyph’s legend--the part that tells what each shape or picture stands for--to help you glean information about the person who created the glyph.

Our Pete the Cat Glyph legend is the following:

How many letters are in your name?
2 letters=red cat
3 letters=orange cat
4 letters=yellow cat
5 letters=green cat
6 letters=blue cat
7 or more letters=purple cat

Which activity do you like best?

Reading=heart shaped nose
Writitng=triangle shaped nose

Color of shoes is your child favorite color(s).

Look at the pictures of our cats and find out a few things about the artist that created the cats.
