Star Student Week Finale!

We have completed our star student celebrations!  We have loved getting to know all of our students during their special week!  We enjoyed getting to know our newest doodlebug last week!!  Thanks to everyone for taking the time to make your child's week extra special!!

Lion King Devotional Part 2

"...God our Savior, wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:3-4

With almost half of the school population in the performance, The Lion King awed and amazed the audience. All who wanted to participate were given the opportunity.  It was obvious by the wide smiles and twinkling eyes, the  performers found all their effort and hard work worthwhile.  How many times do you get to see over 300 students excited about extra work at school?

There is another invitation extended.  It's from our Father.  His greatest desire is for all to come to Him. Unlike the school play, it requires no work, no practice, no fancy costumes or sets.  One need only to accept the work of Jesus on the cross to reap the benefits of the Greatest Story Every Told... God's Love for us.  One day, as believers, we will experience the complete JOY of what God has in store for us, merely for saying "yes" to Him.

Thank You, Father!

Lion King Devotional

The following devotional was written by Veneal Williams:

"However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—" 1 Corinthians 2:9

The time is here.  Preparation of our school's performance of "The Lion King" has required endless weeks and days of dedicated work.  The tedious hours of practicing, painting and preparing is over. It's show time.

All the sweat, tears, frustrations, excitement and determination poured into the show will surely culminated into a memorable experience beyond the expectations of the crowd.  I've witnessed a sliver of what's to come... all i can say is prepare to be bedazzled!

Other preparations are still being made.

Jesus is preparing a place for us and is coming back for us.  Through the reading and studying of His Word, we glimpse a sliver of what's to come... we can only imagine.  Beyond a doubt, we will be bedazzled one day by the full glory of Him.  Thank You, Father!

JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE!

On Fire Star Student Week

This star student was on fire this week!  We had a great time celebrating his special week.  We enjoyed learning all about this fascinating family!  His sweet sister came and read a book to the class! He had visitors for lunch!  The highlight of the week was when his dad came and juggled fire!  He gave the children tips on how to juggle and gave them tule to practice their juggling skills!

Little People, Big Hearts

Our artwork made the Devotional this morning and I wanted to share!  Look at that beautiful artwork and the words that Veneal wrote to go with it makes it even more beautiful!

"But Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:16

I love the way kindergartens describe each other.  They use adjectives i like. It makes me realize role models aren't just tall, seasoned and old.  Some of my favorite role models these days are actually young and a lot shorter than me.
Many students remind me each day what is really important.  Respect, compassion, kindness, genuine concern.  They accept and love me as i am, even on days when i'm tired and chewing nails.  Opening a door for me, wishing me a good morning, sharing a laugh, waving good bye... and doing it for only one reason, they want too. There are no hidden agendas or motives.
No wonder Jesus declared the heavenly kingdom belongs to those like them.  Pure heart, open acceptance, honest words, joyful love.

Father, draw me more into a childlike faith.
