Oh How Thankful We Are!

Thanksgiving is the greatest time of year because it gives everyone time to reflect on all the things we have to be thankful for.

Yesterday I was reminded of how thankful I am to be at such a wonderful school with such wonderful and loving families!  We had a blast yesterday as we celebrated Thanksgiving with our Pine Street Family!  The children enjoyed all the delicious food and time to fellowship with their friends and family.

Thank you so much for all your contributions to make yesterday such a huge success!  We were thankful that so many parents came and helped  serve plates and to help serve second helpings!  The doodlebugs ate lots of yummy food!

Happy Thanksgiving!  Have a safe and happy week!
We will see you in December!!!!

Are they adorable or what?  Cutest little Indians I have ever seen!

Look at how beautiful the table is set!  The children made everything on the table, even their napkin rings!

Sweet 6th Birthday!

We had an exciting 6th birthday on Friday.  We celebrated with ice cream sandwiches for the class.  The birthday girl had her mom come for lunch.  We had a surprise visitor in the classroom for the first time this year.  Santa sent our Elf on the Shelf, Rocky, to visit us and he was dressed up in a birthday cupcake costume.  We got an Elf on the Shelf Birthday book and the book gave us directions on how to get our elf to come every time a friend celebrates a birthday.  We have another birthday on Tuesday so we can't wait to see Rocky again and he will be visiting a lot in December as he watches over us to report to Santa on whose been naughty and nice!!!

Happy 6th Birthday!!  We hope your birthday wish comes true!

Thanksgiving Devotional

Our little pilgrims inspired Mrs. Williams to write her devotional this morning and I wanted to share!!

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I was going to complain, then i read the news. I decided to count my blessings instead.

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.

friend, we are loved and chosen by God,

Fabulous Star Student Week

Our star student had a fabulous week and we learned so many wonderful things about him.  We had visitors from, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Brutus the dog and Mr. Bones the skeleton.  The children experienced some things this week that were very unique.  They heard Grandpa play the banjo (that something you don't see everyday).  We got to play with a 95 pound Newfoundland puppy.  We had a skeleton in our classroom and learned about what a physical therapist does each day.  It was great getting to know our star student this week!

Mr. Bones and Dad teaching us about being a physical therapist!!!

The banjo was very entertaining for everyone.  We all danced and thoroughly enjoyed our entertainment!

Lunch with Grandma!

Nursery Rhyme Day

Nursery Rhyme Day has to be the cutest day of the year!  What could be cuter than 100 kindergartners dressed up as nursery rhyme characters and singing and dancing???  They were so adorable that I cannot stop smiling!  I thought they did an amazing job on stage!!!  Thanks to all the parents for dressing their little ones in great costumes for our special day!

The Magic of Kindergarten

Teaching Kindergarten is magical and that is what I love most about what I do!!!  Kindergarten students love the magic and mystery in every day events!    I thought our Boosterthon fund raiser was magical because I was amazed at how everyone got involved and raised an insane amount of money for Pine Street School!!  Our class received $219 from the PTO for us to use in our classroom (this was a percentage of the money our class collected through Boosterthon)!  I wanted to share the items I purchased this weekend for our Doodlebugs to enjoy!!!  I bought 4 new dress up sets which included: a chef, a firefighter, a doctor, and a hair stylist (I bought a vet dress up set earlier this year and they love it, so I know these will be a hit)!  We have one center that we change from a vet center to a bakery/ ice cream shop so now we can change it into a doctor's office, fire house, and a beauty/barber shop!  I bought 3 headphones for our computers, a birthday elf on the shelf, an elf on the shelf birthday chair cover, 2 sets of knights, and 2 card games (I will be sending these home with the kiddos to enjoy with their families)!  Thanks for supporting Boosterthon.  It feels like Santa has been here!!  HO HO HO!

Do you see that Elf on the Shelf Birthday set?  I get chills thinking about the next birthday because I love that so much!  Yes, that is the cutest birthday chair cover in the world (the box on the right side with polka dots)!!  Why did I not think of the elf on the shelf????

I have a feeling that Mrs. Polly Wolly and I will be sitting in a chair getting our hair fixed when this little outfit comes out for play time.  I think it is going to be fun!

Thanks again for all of your support!

A Dynamic Star Student

We had a dynamic week getting to know our star student this week.  We learned about a fabulous trip he took to Yellowstone National Park.  We looked at pictures from his trip and learned about lots of animals that live in and around Yellowstone.    Our Star Student's mom came read a very interesting book titled, Who Pooped in the Park? by Gary Robson.  The children thoroughly enjoyed hearing about this amazing trip.  His dad came for lunch and he also had his mom and a family friend visit for lunch!

A great lunch from Chick-Fil-A with Dad.

Mom shares about a trip to Yellowstone National Park and she is showing us on a map where they traveled.

Lunch with Mom and a special friend!!  Chick Fil A again!  Wow, what a special week!
